ACCIDENTAL LAUNCH
SABADO · 2025 · SILVER AT CCP
When the U.S. National Security Advisor accidentally added journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a private Signal chat with other government officials, The Atlantic broke the story, revealing that war plans were being discussed in the group. What was meant to be confidential quickly became a global controversy.
While The Atlantic stumbled into a private conversation, SÁBADO is the media outlet that makes the truth public in an open chat where everyone is invited to join: SÁBADO’s WhatsApp.
Riding on the viral “Signal chat” scandal, SÁBADO officially launched its WhatsApp channel. The campaign recreated the infamous screenshot of the original chat, inviting readers to another conversation, one they can actually be part of. The line read:
“Until you’re added to this chat, know everything on SÁBADO’s.”
From this central image, new chats unfolded on hot global topics: Trump, Gaza, Ukraine, Peace & Love; each designed with themed backgrounds (weapons, bombs, the Ukrainian coat of arms, U.S. dollars, and more), and featuring recognizable public figures.
The result was a bold, witty campaign that turned a diplomatic mishap into a powerful launch moment, positioning SÁBADO as the place where real conversations happen, publicly.
